Introduction (music class)
Hi, I'm Nola. This is my first blog post for my music class. I’m originally from Valdez Alaska and lived there for seven years. I moved to North Carolina after Valdez because my family was sick of the winters. I moved back to Alaska only a few years after moving away, my dad got a got a good job and we all missed our friends and family. I currently live remote in Prince William Sound. My favourite food is bao buns, my favourite color is the orangey yellow of molten glass. I have a little white dog named Walter, he loves tracking the otters around my house. My hobbies include cooking, swimming, weightlifting and crocheting. Swimming is one of my longest hobbies iv swam competitively for over 15 years now and I just never get sick of in. My favourite stroke is backstroke.
My relationship to music really started when I began taking violin lessons when I was little. I quit a few years ago because I moved away from my teacher. My favourite genre of music currently is indie folk but it changes frequently. I’ve never been to a concert but I would love to, seeing my favourite artist would be amazing but tickets are so so expensive nowadays. When I listen to music I tend to engage with the beat more that the lyrics. It not that I don’t listen to them but i just more enjoy the rhythm and this preference helps me enjoy more non English music.

DeleteI used to do triathlons. I love swimming, but not in open water. Lucky you! Prince William Sound is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI used to do competitive swimming as well back during my high school years. One of my favorite parts was just the excitement and tension during swimming competitions. My main stroke is freestyle.
ReplyDeleteHi Nola, My favorite genre is also folk! I am in high school and also swim. I also run cross country and have been to Valdez to race. It was so beautiful there!

DeletePWS is a fantastic place to live (although I'm sure there are some drawbacks too). I'm jealous! Great choice on your song, I'm wearing my Metallica shirt right now. The violin has always fascinated me. I tried playing one once and couldn't figure out how to play just one string at once so I gave up.
